JACK  LONG

As a multi-disciplinary artist, I have always had a strong interest in producing a series of ceramic items that delve below the surface. In this series, I am heavily influenced by my love of music, gardening, and the ever changing microscopic world that lives around us. Through my art, I aim to capture the essence of these inspirations and create unique and thought-provoking ceramic pieces.

ECOWAVE

My ceramic art explores new ecosystems and pushes the boundaries of bold colors. Each piece is a manifestation of my imagination and what lies below the surface.

Mid-Century Modern

The Mid-Century Modern inspired series features classic shapes and bold colors that captures the vibe of that period.

About Me

Unleashing creativity through clay

Jack is a multi‑disciplinary artist working primarily from his home studio in Woodbury, New Jersey, where most of his ceramic work comes to life in a space filled with music, sketches, test tiles, and the quiet hum of creative ritual. Some processes—like bronze casting, metal forming, and specialized finishing—happen offsite, but the heart of his practice lives at home, where ideas move freely and the work feels most personal.

Over the years he has explored bronze, stained glass, cement forms, wood, stone carving, and metalwork. Each material has taught him something different about weight, resistance, patience, and emotional reward. Ceramics, though, have become his meditative center. Clay slows the world down just enough for visions to surface—visions shaped by bold color, flowing shapes, and a blend of retro‑modern design with psychedelic figurative abstraction. His pieces often explore human connection through drifting forms, symbolic eyes, and the subtle tension between what is seen and what is felt.

His work is fueled by music, the transcendent pulse of nature, and the microscopic patterns that exist just below the surface of everyday life. These influences merge into ceramic pieces that feel both intimate and expansive—objects meant to spark curiosity, emotional resonance, and a sense of discovery.

He draws his inspiration from the bold graphic modernism of Malika Favre, the flowing psychedelic curves of Peter Max, the stylized human forms of Geoff McFetridge, the symbolic energy of Alex Grey, and the organic abstraction found in Matisse and the 1960s psychedelic poster movement. Their visual languages echo through his own, not as imitation but as lineage—threads woven into a style that is retro, modern, sensual, symbolic, and unmistakably his.
